My name is Alyssa Chin, I’m the creator of the artist brand Alystar YumeStar. Other people call me by my real name (Alyssa), or Al for short, but online I preferred to be called Alystar. I’m a digital illustrator, graphic designer, and 2D animator. I got my inspiration to pursue art when I was 10-11 years old watching animation memes back in 2016. Big shout-out to the 2D animators that inspired me to pick up a pencil and draw. That’s where I found my spark all thanks to them.
Why did I name my brand Alystar YumeStar?
Before I branded as Alystar YumeStar, my username used to be alyster_smiles. It was initially inspired by the Hazbin Hotel character Alastor, until later on I changed it to Alystar YumeStar. Why YumeStar? While designing the mascot I wanted Alystar to be the male version of me, in real life I’m into the J fashion style yami-kawaii which is “sickly cute” in the Japanese term. With that I want my mascot to contrast that by designing him in yume-kawaii fashion, which translates to “dreamy cute”.
